Improving Transparency And Efficiency In Tax Administration
The Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) has worked in collaboration with the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), the Kano State Internal Revenue Service (KIRS) and the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) to eliminate manual administrative processes for remittance and filing of taxes by companies in Nigeria. An e-filing system has been introduced, which allows companies to file their federal and state taxes electronically. These include Corporate Income Tax (CIT), Value Added Tax (VAT), Capital Gains Tax, Infrastructure Development Tax and Stamp Duty Tax.
